Feel Good or Fix Yo’self.

Whenever I show up to the playground with my kids in tow my friends give me a hard time.

It’s 9:00 in the morning (just kidding, it’s 10:30 because I can’t get out of the house any sooner) and I have a full face of makeup on. I contoured the shit out of my face half an hour earlier and to be honest, my cheek bones are looking hella good.

They aren’t harassing me. In fact, it takes quite a bit to get through this skin. They are teasing. I can laugh with them, but comments have always been made and it got me thinking.

These comments aren’t being made at my expense. They are being made because it makes others feel like they haven’t done enough to themselves. They woke up that day and decided there was no point in getting ready when all they were doing that morning was taking their toddler to the park to eat wood chips and lick slides.

AND THAT IS TOTALLY FINE! My friends figured I was judging them. They thought since I am a makeup artist and I wear ALL the makeup that I was looking at them thinking they needed to as well.

This is not the case.

I don’t give a shit if you don’t wear makeup. I don’t care if you haven’t touched your eyebrows your entire life. This is MY thing. If you want to ask me some tips to help you out or you want to hire me to teach you my techniques I am more than willing, but if it isn’t your thing then we don’t have to talk beauty. We can talk about what our husbands are currently doing to irritate us or the weirdest things we have done in the bedroom (please, tell me…).

YOU NEED TO DO THINGS FOR YOURSELF THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY.

You need to do things that make you feel good.

I love makeup. I chose it as a career for God’s sake because I enjoy the process and I love how it makes me look and feel.

Don’t show up to the park wishing you had put yourself together. Either take the time to do it, or be happy with how you represent yourself. But don’t get up in my biz…

unless you plan to pay me because… beauty is my biz…
